Talk Abstract: Digital and AI-powered technologies are transforming the world of work, pushing the workforce towards the need to learn new in-demand skills and adapt to future jobs. Recently, at the beginning of 2024 many big tech companies like Amazon, Google and Meta have announced large tech layoffs.

In this talk Dr. Kao will discuss the currently most in demand “hard and soft” skills, how to assess your current skill levels and how to improve on your deficiencies.

Among hard skills Dr. Kao will cover current hot technical skills (AI, IoT, Big data, cloud-edge, mixed reality) and among soft skills such as interpersonal communication, leadership, collaboration, creativity, adaptability, persuasion, etc.
