To celebrate the 100th anniversary of CIE/USA, CIE-SF has arranged a great dinner program for our Annual Conference. There will be a delightful gala banquet in the evening featuring a keynote speech, presentation of awards, such as scholarships, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the Technology and Humanity Award, and entertainment.
Yu-Lang (Robert) Mao will be the keynote speaker at the dinner. Mr. Mao was the CEO of 3Com from 2008 to 2010. During his time as CEO, Mr. Mao led 3Com to be a part of the S&P 500 companies. He also served as the Chairman of HP China from 2013 to October 2016.
Many other industry leaders of the Silicon Valley will be at attendance at this event.

Mr. Robert YL Mao

Former CEO of 3Com
Robert Mao has actively participated in the US, China, Taiwan, Asia and Europe technology markets for the last 40 years.
Bob is currently a senior advisor to a premier China based equity fund and an independent board director for one US listed pressure exchange company and one Taiwan listed automotive company respectively. He also participates in the strategic direction of private companies based in Taiwan serving US and Asia markets.
Bob was most recently, 2013-2016, the HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise China Region Chairman. Prior to that Bob served as the global CEO for 3Com, an S&P 500 company at the time, and oversaw the sale of 3Com to HP in 2010. Bob served as the Greater China regional president for Canada’s Nortel Networks and France’s Alcatel-Lucent respectively in the 1990s and 2000s. In the 1970s and 1980s Bob ran a telecom industrial unit in Taiwan for ITT and later for Alcatel serving Asia and worldwide markets. In the 1960s and early 1970s Bob worked at technology companies on the US east coast. Over the years Bob had served as independent board directors for public companies based in the US, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
Bob is a graduate of Cornell University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in metallurgical engineering and material science respectively. He also has an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
