Electronic Packaging and Manufacturing Committee

I. EPMC History:
EPMC (Electronics Packaging and Manufacturing Committee) was established on April 10, 1993 in Sunnyvale, California. EPMC was originally part of the Electrical Engineering group of the CIE/USA, San Francisco Bay Area chapter. The founding members were Daniel Chen, Jeremy Chen, Margaret Hsu, Rong Hsu, CC Huang, Randy Lo, Pei-Lin Pai, Jett Tsai, Trancy Tsao, Cliff Tsay, Jerry Tzou, and Matthew Yuan, total of 12 members. In 1996, EPMC was separated from EE group as an independent subgroup called "committee" - abbreviated as EPMC.

II. EPMC Objectives:
To promote communication and interchange of information among Chinese-origin professionals who are directly or indirectly involved in the following areas:
1. Final assembly or manufacturing and test of
- semiconductor devices
- printed circuit boards (PCB) or equivalents
- sub-systems or assemblies
- systems
2. Development of related technologies and processes.

III. EPMC Organization and Membership:
The committee has 4 officers (chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer). The chair is elected by EPMC board members every year.
