Advances in Wireless Communication: 5G and LI-FI

Date: May 8, 2019 (Wednesday) 7:00 - 9:00 pm (registration at 6:30PM)

Venue: ITRI Int’l, 2870 Zanker Rd., Suite #140, San Jose, CA

The speaker will present the technology behind 5G and Light Fidelity. Come and learn about them!

5G is the next generation wireless communication technology and it promises a whole suite of dramatic improvements. It can achieve speeds up to 100 times faster than 4G, 100 times more connected devices, 100x energy efficiency,  and10x latency reduction. It will help kick-start the Internet of Things, since it was designed to connect billions of machines, appliances, and sensors at low cost without draining their batteries.

Li-Fi is a new technology that uses light to transmit data. It offers several advantages like working across higher bandwidth, working in areas susceptible to electromagnetic interference (e.g. aircraft cabins, hospitals) and offering higher transmission speeds.

This two hour seminar will present an overview of 5G (technology, new capabilities, applications) and also present Li-FI technology (how it works, Li-Fi vs Wi-Fi, advantages, disadvantages, and applications)

Overwork and fatigue are the most common causes of stress in the workplace. Though there are many factors that contribute to stress, we can successfully learn to decrease its overall affects.
Managing workplace stress starts with identifying the sources of stress and finding strategies for managing them. The better we are at understanding our own stress, the less other people’s stress will negatively affect us and the more we can be a positive influence in the lives of others.

This session teaches how to:
- Use effective communication skills to ease stress
- Release tension and negativity
- Be aware of the energy of working relationships
- Shift perspectives and become more flexible

Reducing stress and tension is about learning how to recognize our thoughts, emotions, and the way we interact with others. By understanding the energy and patterns of stress, we can take healthy steps to reduce its negative effects and create a sense of balance, good health, and peace of mind in our lives.
